*According to Dutch healthcare regulations, psychological diagnostics that fall under insured care must be conducted by a GZ-psychologist. As we do not hold the GZ-title, we are not positioned to carry out formal diagnostic assessments within the reimbursed framework. This comprehensive report and diagnosis provides a solid and sufficient basis for ADHD medical evaluation and decision-making regarding treatment, as the assessment follows guideline-based diagnostic standards. However, any decision regarding medication must ultimately be made by a medical doctor or psychiatrist.

Free consultation (20 min)
During the free 20-minute consultation, which is always held online, we have the opportunity to get to know each other, explore the reasons why you are seeking therapy, and discuss the best way to begin the process. We can also arrange and schedule upcoming appointments. After this meeting, future sessions can take place online or in person, depending on your preference.

No-show fee
A €95 no-show fee applies if you do not cancel your appointment at least 48 hours in advance.

Reimbursement

Mental Hygiene Institute is a private and independent practice and does not have contracts with health insurances. It is your own responsibility to cover the costs of your sessions.

If you have International health insurance, it is possible that you may be eligible for reimbursement. Based on our experience, the Cigna health insurance can offer full reimbursement, and MSH International can offer 80% reimbursement. If you have AON Student Insurance (Start+, Complete, Complete+), you may be eligible for reimbursement of up to €3,000 for psychotherapy sessions. Some Dutch health insurance companies have a “supplementary health insurance” (in Dutch: de aanvullende zorgverzekering) which may (partially) reimburse the sessions.

Note that a referral from a GP is required in advance, only if you are eligible for reimbursement from a medical insurance.
It is your own responsibility to cover the session costs and apply for possible reimbursement afterwards.

Appointments with the psychiatrist work with different fees. They might be covered by insurance, which also depends on the type of insurance you have.

To contact the psychiatrist, you need a referral from the family doctor and an initial assessment with Daniela van Mourik.

Please check the possibilities of insurance coverage with your provider and provide them with the following information:
